Bulgaria

Bulgaria borders 5 countries: Romania, Serbia and the Republic of Macedonia to the west, Greece and Turkey to the south. In 1990, after the revolution of 1989, Bulgaria undertook a transition to democracy and free-market capitalism.

INVESTMENT

The investor deposits 1,000,000 BGN (€511,292) in the Guaranteed Governmental Bond Portfolio for a period of 5 years. No further payment is required. At the end of the five-year period, the amount 1,000,000 BGN is returned to the investor with no accrued interest. The Investment fully guaranteed by the government bonds.

The investor pays a reduced amount of €180,000. The reduced amount is used to finance a 1,000,000 BGN loan from a Bulgarian chartered bank. This loan is initiated and repaid at no further cost to the Investor and the €180,000 is not returned to the investor at the end of the five year period.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Non-European Union Citizen;
• Valid Passport or another substitute foreign-travel document;
• Investment Certificate issued by the Ministry of Finance
• Certificate in regards of the source and origin of the declared and invested funds;
• Notarized Power of Attorneys and Investment Agreement in the appropriate, Bulgarian Consulate or Embassy; and
• Proof that the applicant has no criminal record.

MAINTAINING RESIDENCY

Permanent Resident Permits are issued within a few months of application submission. No physical residency requirement. After the 5 years, everyone is eligible to apply for citizenship.
