ST. Kitts & Nevis


St. Christopher & Nevis is located in the northern section of the Eastern Caribbean Sea. It has an area of approximately 9,000 square miles and has a population 44,000. In 1983, St. Kitts gained its independence from Britain and formed a twin island Federation. Their currency is East Caribbean dollar which is tied the US dollar.

ST. KITTS & NEVIS ECONOMIC CITIZENSHIP PROGRAM

St. Kitts & Nevis Economic Citizenship Program started in 1984 and is the oldest existing citizenship-by-investment program. Initially, investors had to make an economic contribution to the country, real estate investment. In exchange they were granted full citizenship. Today, a second option is available to invest in the Sugar Industry Diversification Foundation (SIDF).

INVESTMENT OPTION

Real Estate Investment
Initially, the only option was the Real Estate Investment Program, where purchase of one property for at least USD $400,000* in a pre-approved real estate development area will grant an applicant the naturalization. Once the property is purchased, the investor can right away apply for citizenship. He must posses the property for at least five years. Registration, processing fees, and taxes under this option must be paid by the applicant.


SIDF Investment

At present, the second option available is to invest in the Sugar Industry Diversification Foundation (SIDF). The required investments are as follows:
  • USD $250,000 – single applicant
  • USD $300,000 – family with up to 3 dependents (spouse and 2 children below 18)
  • USD $350,000 – family with up to 5 dependents (spouse and 4 children below 18)
  • USD $450,000 – family with up to 7 dependents (spouse and 6 children below 18)
  • USD $50,000 – Additional contribution for each dependent above 7 dependents.

Additional Contribution
USD $50,000 - For each children above 18 years old but below 25 years old.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Applicants must be of outstanding character and must be of high net worth individual
  • Applicants who are healthy and have no criminal record
PROCEDURE
  • Selecting & buying property (Option 1) or Contribution to SIDF (Option 2)
  • Paying Government Fees for citizenship application
  • Submitting citizenship application and supporting documents
  • Naturalization Certificate is issued
  • Submitting the passport application and supporting documents
  • Passport issued

The whole process takes approximately 10 to 12 weeks.
